Customizing your Templates

Below is a guide on how to best customize your website template

Customization

To customize your template click on the menu option "Appearance" -> "Colors & Logos".

This page has all of the tools to customize your site:

  • A: Background Color: this changes the background color of your website.
  • B: Header Color: this changes the color of your header
  • C: Menu/Other Color: this changes the color of your menubar
  • D: Details Color: this changes the color of your widget headers
  • Text A: Heading: this changes the color the text in your header
  • Text B: Sub-Heading: this changes the font colors of your main navigation links and your widget headings.

Remember, some elements are not ideal to customize depending on your template. For example, the "header Color" option is suited for only the templates with "headers", as these templates have a header color to change and so will look better.

Background Images

Most of the templates come with a default background image. You can choose to keep this, replace this background image, or if you want a background color, you must replace it with one of our background-color images . This is explained below.

Changing your Background Image

To change your background image, go to the appearance tab, and under "Background Image" simply upload your own image.

Remember, each template already has a background image associated with it, so if you want to keep that image, then leave this area blank.

If you prefer one of GotSoccer's other background images, used in a different template, you can download them here and upload it to override the default image associated with your template.

Important: if you are keeping the default background image (or using one of GotSoccer's other background images), do not add a background color. If you want to add a background color read the instructions below.

A: Background Colors

If you want to have a background color you must replace the default background image with one of our background-color images. These images will allow you to have a background color on your website. Download background-color images here

Once you have downloaded your image simply upload it under "Page Background Image" (as explained above) and then you will be able to select your "background color".

Changing your Background Color

By default your website will probably have a black background color. So, if you use one of our background-color images, you will need to go to the appearance tab and change the "Background Color" to whatever color you want it to be. Leaving it blank will leave the default color.

B: Header Color

There are some template that have Headers. These templates are clearly labeled "(Header)" to help indicate that they have a header for you to customize. It is recommended that only with these templates should you customize the "header color" under appearance.

Changing the "Header Color" will only change the background color of the header. Depending on the header design, different areas of the header will change color. Some headers change the entire header, where as other headers will only change the outer border.

Changing your Header Color

Again, like the background color above, these all have a color set as a default. So to change the color you will need to go to the appearance tab and change the "Header Color" to whatever color you want it to be. Leaving it blank will leave the default color.

C: Menu/Other Color

You can change the default color of your menu bar by selecting a color under "D: Menu/Other Color".

D: Details Color

This setting changes your widget header color. If you leave it blank the template's default color will be used.
