Events Page

As a part of the integrated system, GotSoccer generates a Events Page for you. This page includes a table listing all of the events you have registered in GotSoccer with link to any open Registration Forms, Schedules/Results and a More Info button which takes you to the Event's individual page:-

Controlling This Page:

To navigate to the Events control panel click on the Events link in the grey menu bar:

Here you will find the control panel for your generated Events page:-

Figure 1

(A) This is the Events tab to get to your Events Page control panel

(B) On the right hand side you will see the URL address for your Event page. When you click on it you will see a preview of how this Event page is displayed on your website. This URL link can be found under your Resources tab in your HTML Editor - it is the link under "Standard Web Pages" called "Events".

(C) These are the individual links to display only Tournaments, or Leagues, or Training.

(D) This shows all of the Events you have inside of your GotSoccer database. The column on the left, Listed Events, are all of the events you have chosen to Publish (and thus appear on your website). The right column, Other Events, are Events which are not published and will not be seen. To publish or unpublish an event simply click on the event name and on the right side check or uncheck the box labeled "Publish to Site".

Linking to your Event Page

As you saw above, you can find the URL of this page in the right hand side (see figure 1, label B). You can simply copy this URL and use the Hyperlink button to create this link, by copying and pasting this url.

An easier way though, is to use your Resources button in your HTML Editor tools:

This button allows you to link to your many GotSoccer Resources, one of those being your generated Events Page.

  1. Highlight your link then click on this Resources button.
  2. This will bring up all of the resources you have available - including your Team, Coaches and Event Page and any Tournament Registration forms or Tournament Schedules that you have available within your GotSoccer account.
  3. Click on the Events button and your link will be created.

Now when people click your link, it will take them to the generated Event page with your team table - the same page as you previewed in Figure 1, label B.

Adding Content to your generated Event Pages #

The generated Event Page only publishes your Event Table. But what if you want to add some information to this page? Say a heading and maybe a paragraph or two of writing?

You can easily do this by simply creating a new Content Page, like you did for all of your other content pages, and then assigning it as your Event Page. NOTE: This information will publish above your generated Events table.

  1. Go to your main control panel and select Create New Page under your HTML Pages column.
  2. Create your content like you would for any other page - insert your text and images, format them and select publish.
  3. Now before you save this page, you must turn it into a Event Page instead of just being a regular content Web Page. Above the HTML Editor, you will notice a drop menu labelled Type. This drop box determines what type of page this is. Bydefault it is Web Page - which would be what we use for all of the Content Pages you have been creating.
  4. Select Events Page from this drop menu to turn this page into content for your Event Page.
  5. Now save your page and you are done!
  6. To preview this page properly, you will need to preview your Event Page (see figure 1, label B). Now you should see the content you inserted for the Event Page appear above the generated Event table.

Individual Event Pages

Each event can have their own individual page which will integrate into the website. For instance, if someone were to click on one of the events (or clicks on the "More Info" button next to your event ) in your Event table, they would be taken to that individual Event's Page. These individual event pages have links to any open Registration forms and/or Scores and Schedules:-

Adding Content to these Individual Event Pages

To add content to your individual Event page simply:-
  1. Go to the Events control panel.
  2. From the table click on the event you want to add information to.
  3. This will open up the familiar HTML Editor for you. Simply insert the content you would like, save and publish.
  4. Once you publish your event you will notice that in the main Event control panel, your event will now be listed on the right hand side, under "Listed Events".
